Squads    -   Training

BSC Squad Structure - All squads are ability based:

Cygnets 1
This is the first level of swimmer that comes to the club. It may be newcomers or younger children. The aim for cygnets 1 is to learn the competitive rules and techniques used by a swimming club and progress in Cygnets 2,

Cygnets 2
This is thenext level of swimmer that attends the club. They will intersperse technique sessions with early training methods. They will learn to swim using the clock. The aim again will be to progress into Cygnets 3

Cygnets 3
This squad is seen a a pre-bronze squad. They should now be aware of correct techniques and rules and be focusing more on training for competition

Bronze Squad
A competitive training squad that should try to attend 3 or more sessions a week following a training cycle

Silver Squad.
The 2nd highest squad in the club. Swimmers will follow  a training cycle and regularly compete for the club in league galas. We would encourage swimmers to try and train 3 or 4 times a week including 1 land based training session.

Gold Squad
The senior squad in the club ability wise .Training is based on a cycle. Swimmers can compete regularly for the club at all levels. They should try to attend 4 training sessions per week including at least 1 land based training session per week. They have the same amount of training sessions available as the silver squad and train at the same time.

Club Squad
The club squad is aimed primarily at the teenage swimmer who likes a structured, coached social swim.
