Rules for registering PBs and Club records (in accordance with ASA guidelines)

PB Performances

Times must be recorded manually by an official time keeper or by Automatic Officiating Equipment (AOE).

Individual PBs can be achieved at any official competition or time trial, e.g. at Club or Regional Championships, Opens, Galas, Club Time Trials etc.

Times achieved by the first swimmer in a relay event can also be used, providing they are officially recorded by a time keeper or by AOE and published with the results, e.g. at County Championships, Opens etc. Times achieved by other swimmers in a relay event cannot be considered PBs.

Intermediate distance times achieved in an individual event, e.g. first 100m of a 200m event, can also be used, providing they are officially recorded by a time keeper or by AOE and published with the results, e.g. at County Championships, Opens etc.

Individual times achieved at a gala whilst representing another swimming club, a school, Borough, County or other similar organisation, but not Bromley SC, can be submitted & recorded to aid gala team selection, but they will not be registered as an official PB for Bromley SC.

If the first swimmers in a relay event achieves a PB time, but the time is not published with the results, e.g. at league galas, the time can be submitted & recorded to aid gala team selection, but it will not be registered as an official PB for Bromley SC.

Club Records

The PB rules above also apply to club records. Only times achieved whilst representing Bromley SC can count as a club record.

Long course times cannot be converted to short course times for record purposes, but the unconverted times can be considered.

Junior records can only be obtained by swimmers up to the end of the year in which they have their 11th Birthday.

Registering PBs and Club Records

PBs and Club Records are kept and updated by our gala secretary.

Top Ten Records are published periodically.

If you achieve a PB at an official gala or open that is not co-ordinated by Bromley SC, please advise our gala secretary (joann.din1 AT talktalk.net) of the time (to 2 decimal places), the event and location and we will update your records.
